cancan’s first (and LAST) accident
on my way to colleague’s baby’s first mth party last sat, i knocked into a taxi while turnin out.
*ka-boom*
i wasnt steppin on e accelerator so the dent on e cab was not deep, but it was quite a huge area.
our car, fortunately, was only slightly scratched n had an inconspicuous dent beside e lights. bleah..
stupid relief cab driver started scoldin me n threatened to report me if i din have a licence. i decided to go back into e car to wait for tuck tuck to come save me. boohoo.
cab driver wanted us to pay for e repair costs, as well as compensate e owner of his cab for loss of income durin repair time. he claimed tt loss of income incl. rental costs wld be ard “$100+ to $200+”.
we estimated e total costs to be $500: $200+ for repair works + $200+ for loss of income.
in e end, i decided to seek my daddy’s help. lucky for us, he brought us to a workshop in sin ming which specialises in taxi repair works.
my dad managed to bring the compensation amt down to $100, cos obviously e relief driver was tryin to inflate his claim. the owner of e cab turned out to be my neighbour who is more honest n gladly accepted e compensation.
so the total cost of settlement? $90 + $100 = $190.. less than half of wat we initially estimated!
