the bizarre afternoon

today was a boring study leave day.
cancan decided to practise singing in e afternoon.
her angelic voice attracted the bees from afar.

at first she heard the sound of a bug flyin across e room
thinkin tt it was a small bug, she ignored it n continued singing.
suddenly it started to sound like there were more than one bug in e room
she looked up and realised there were abt 10 BEES in the room!!

1 frantic one which cancan thot was e bug
1 at the wardrobe, 3 at the lights
and 4-5 at the curtains!

so she fleed the room n couped herself up in e kitchen,
closing the windows n e door
it wasnt long before she developed a headache frm e lack of ventilation..
and went to her mum’s room to slp.

and that was e end of e study leave day.
oh crap..

pornography is an addiction

most ppl might not have realised,
but pornography is an addiction like smoking.

excessive amts harm the mental health of a person,
jus like chain smokin harms e physical health of a person.

they say in life, u need to try everythin.
and i did.
i have smoked, i have watched porn.

but i have e power to stop whenever i wan to.
i dun allow any of these to dictate my lifestyle.

and that, is wat distinguishes me frm those incorrigible smokers and destestable porn addicts.
yuck.
go to hell, suckers!

when they burned out, there was a sudden silence in the air
the contrast was too huge for e little one to bear.
a deep sense of emptiness set in..

she din understand that queer feeling she had
she turned to ask the elves
only to find them gone.

Wage Survey Feedback

i chanced upon a report on MOM’s Wage Survey 2007 and saw that among the top 100 best-paying jobs, an actuary ranks #83, with a 3rd quartile wage of $5,100. wat crap…

so i decided to spend 15min to write a short feedback to MOM.
yeah, i am this bo liao! haha!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently chanced upon the Report on Wages and noticed that the 3rd quartile wage for an Actuary is $5100. Despite this being an average figure based on the salaries of the sample population chosen, the figure appears too far off from the norm.

Upon referring to the list of Occupations, I discovered that there is only one category for Actuary, which possibly could include Qualified Actuaries, as well as non-qualified ones.

Often, the salary difference between the two is great. No actuary, if fully-qualified, will draw an income as low as $5,100. On the other hand, not many non-qualified actuaries will command an income as high as $5,000.

The problem with combining these two categories of actuaries is that the true average wage of each category is masked and the figure we see is reflective of neither category of profession, wihch could be misleading for individuals who rely on such information in their career decisions.

I am speaking from the viewpoint of an actuary and understand that most people would not have realised the difference between these two types of actuaries.

I hope the relevant department can look into this matter when conducting the next survey so that more accurate statistics can be produced.
