jus a random post on snippets of our experiences wif food in SG lately:
there’s a 1-for-1 buffet promotion at Honjin Jap Restaurant. tuck tuck suggested gg for e buffet on v-dae, but i insisted on tryin it last fri.
first, we noticed e waitresses sloppily dressed in worn out yukatas. they were really chin cheong - nvm that - but service was obviously lacking. they also served us a lobster dish cos apparently it was a lobster buffet la.
wat lobster?! haha

the food was not fantastic. i tried some rock beef cubes haha!

cancan still lookin happy
it turned out that e 1-for-1 promo was not the usual 1-for-1 we noe after all. each person pays the full price on e first visit, n gets a coupon for a free buffet on e next visit, rather than e real 50% deal for two pax on e first visit. crap la. that wld come up to $40++ per pax.. wth, i might as well go for an afternoon tea buffet at ritz carlton.. boy, was i glad it wasnt v-dae tt nite!

anyway, i found a place tt serves really nice sukiyaki in SG!
it’s *drum rolls* MOF = Ministry of Food!
cancan wif e fresh, premium beef slices n her fave sukiyaki
of course one can’t go too wrong wif sukiyaki, now tt ready-made soup base is easily available everywhere, but e beef is e distinguishin factor bw a good n bad sukiyaki.. n here at MOF, they serve really good beef i must say!
and they serve a good selection of delectable desserts too! i always end up eatin e same thing though haha..
my all-time fave jap dessert
i din hesitate to sign up for their membership which offers a 10% discount on our bills.. yay..

on another occasion, i made some really cool salad!
my cool salad
it’s got tamago-yaki, pacific surf clams, tobiko roe, self-made crabstick mayo, alfafa etc.. it was Oishii~! i love pacific surf clams!
tuck tuck loved e salad too! e only thing tt din go too well wif e ingredients was e alfafa, which i always prefer havin wif a stronger dressing. shall try it again e next time w/o e alfafa! perfecto!

CNY fun
i love Lim Chee Guan!

*WARNING*
cockroach spotted at Chong Pang BBQ Steamboat at Turf City! they used to be at Marina South but has since moved to Turf City. we decided to try the bbq steamboat out one day.. n that was wat we saw!
we decided to leave our tables though we were not quite done yet (haha!). bein e pestbuster, cancan decided to kill e cockroach before it runs ard scaring others.
btw FYI, cockroaches r e most ancient living creature u can find on Earth, all thanks to their resilient bodies. they will not even sweat in acids! but cancan noes of a way to kill them - use hot water! so i poured e boiling soup over e poor pea n tt was e end of it.
eeks.
