The Hokkaido fox carries the Echinococcus parasite, which can be fatal in humans. Because this parasite can be spread through water, do not drink any unboiled river or lake water in Hokkaido. Approaching or feeding foxes is also not recommended.

shucks… so i searched for more information on e Echinococcus parasite, a tapeworm parasite. once infected, e eggs of e tapeworm can get lodged onto e lungs/livers/kidneys for yrs without any symptoms till cysts grow n rupture. wah kao. that sounds gross! i even saw a grotesque picture of one such kidney which was removed, but decided not to post it here lest it scares ppl off.

conclusion: the parasite only affects humans when the eggs of e tapeworm r ingested. so it shld be ok havin some contact wif them at e farm for a short while.. loads of ppl have gone to such farms, mostly those on a tour grp since it can be quite inaccessible if travelling there on ur own.

decided to give up n took a cab home. e feelin of bein inside a cab was vaguely familiar, yet somewat foreign. e musty smell in e cab was rather unbearable initially. e bumpy ride made my nausea even worse. i was tryin my very best to not puke in e car. e terror-driver uncle was speeeeedin on e CTE, makin me regret for not puttin on my seat belt when i got on but i din wanna piss him off by fastenin e seat belt halfway thru e journey.

suddenly i wished i was not feelin so sick, so tt i cld take e train back home. it was my 2nd time on a cab since i came back frm london. i made a decision to boycott e cabs ever since i heard of their outrageous price hikes n surcharges! i wished tuck tuck cld drive me home jus now so i wldnt need to patronise them haha.

wanted to see my family doc to confirm if it’s e antibiotics tt’s causin e problem, but they’re closed tonite! damn… hadda go to another nearby doc who placed me on a new course of antibiotics n prescribed 2 other medications that’re foreign to me. jus as i’ve expected. i dun like to change docs. i dun like to take new medicines since i’ve got a history of drug intolerances. oh damn… i’m still considerin if i shld take e old/new antibiotics.

anyway e new doc asked if i was a nurse! cos i was “using alot of specific terms correctly”.. lol.. before i left he said i seem to noe alot abt drugs n asked wat exactly i do. hahaha. cancan is a kinky nurse-in-training mah!

we tried out a few restaurants lately! i love to check out different restaurants + critique their food! :p

tuck tuck planned a nice dinner date at one rochester on a friday few wks back.
he chose da paolo as i had been cravin for some real good pasta since i came back frm europe.

the food turned out really sucky. my pasta was dry n difficult to swallow wif e extremely thick, curdly creamy sauce. tuck tuck’s beef wif parmesan tasted jus as bad as e same one we tried at The Mall in Italy. oh man… so much for all e gd reviews we’ve read abt e restaurant. next!

we decided to restaurant-hop. popped by cassis, which was jus opposite da paolo. cassis looks much nicer n had a more tasteful decor than da paolo. seriously, da paolo’s 2nd storey looks like a makeshift studio.. at cassis we had our bloody $30++ desserts.. freak, all thanks to e $9 bottled water haha. £3 sounds more reasonable la.. ;p

it was cancan’s first time to one rochester actually n she doesnt see where e appeal of e place is actually. it’s jus a place sellin e high-class concept wif loads of expensive restaurants at an inaccessible location so tt only those wif cars can visit. lolz..

on another friday, we visited Ju Shin Jung at east coast since a couple of my colleagues mentioned tt e bbq was really good.

ok e signboard looks like one u’ll find at some red light district at first look. haha! e interior of e restaurant is huge n spacious n reminded us of…. a canteen. wahaha! look at e ugly unconcealed white pipes in e pic! zzz..

we decided to order some kick-ass angus beef, apparently e most premium beef in e restaurant. unfortunately, we overlooked e fact tt it wasnt marinated, n tuck tuck n cancan somehow r not used to e taste of un-marinated beef. it tasted damn 臭臭 n i hadda dip it in soy sauce to eat it.

yet another expensive but unsatisfactory meal. i told tuck tuck we can jus stick to crystal jade for korean bbq, but he insists on tryin out more new ones in future! bleah…

shoppin at e taka sale was a disappointing affair. i went to e sale wif jus 3 Nine Wests n nothin else on my shoppin list. in e end, one was torn, one was badly scratched, n one din have my size. din manage to get anythin at e sale in e end..

but fret not, never mind e obstacles… cancan’s still got her hands on those pretty shoes!

i gave up e 3rd pair of Nine West for an Anne Klein. it was a good decision cos i like e AK much more than e NW one! it’s now my fave pair of heels!

we missed e first lesson cos cancan was simply too exhausted after a hard day of firefighting.

i’ve been placed in charge of e qtr’s valuation of e co’s liabilities n have been workin lots of OT cos of this. today at abt 3pm, i was checkin some figures on paper n was not lookin at e workin files on e server. abt half an hr later, i went back to e excel files n discovered tt more than 80% of e files had gone missing!

i got really worried. boss asked me to do a search for any one of e files but no results were returned.
i was convinced tt someone had deleted e entire folder which i created. the reason why some 20% of e files were left behind was cos i had one of e files opened, so the ‘deletion’ met an error n e process was disrupted. it cldn’t hv been me cos i wld’ve gotten tt error msg in deletin tt opened file. so no… not me.

boss brought me to IT to request for a restoration of last nite’s file. which meant all e work i’ve done today wld go down e drain.. few min later back at our desk, boss said “eh, no need to restore alrdy. e whole folder’s been moved to another directory”.

so i went to check n indeed there they were.. i wondered why they din show up in my search results previously. felt quite paiseh then cos it seemed as tho i’d accidentally clicked n dragged e folder into another directory myself.

anyway so i cut n pasted them back into e correct folder, n FKKK!
everythin was gone! includin e 20% tt did not go missing in e first place.

by then i was really panicky n wondered how e hell this cld’ve happened. another helpful boss frm e pricing team came over to my boss’s pc to see if he cld help.. after some clicking, copying, failed pasting, he finally did a “right click - properties”, n saw tt e entire folder was actually hidden! my boss had set his pc to show all hidden files, which explains why he saw e folder but i cldn’t see them on my pc. which also explains why e hidden files din show up on my search results, but showed up on his.

someone had moved my entire folder n intentionally hidden them.
someone within my dept, since only we have access to this server.
someone within my team perhaps, since only we know wat these folders/files r for n e imptance of them.

who cld it be?

my ex-colleagues wld drop their jaw unanimously if they ever hear of this!
but oh well.. ppl can have all sorts of impression they wan, we can’t stop them in any case.
as long as i noe tt it was never me who wanted to have an easy life in e office in e past.
i was actually unhappy tt i was not kept busy all e time.. haha!

i really dun mind workin late, altho i feel bad makin tuck tuck wait for me everyday.
(im also bothered by e fact tt no one really claims e $20 meal allowance in my dept, damn!) haha!
anw i think this is e best time for me to work a lil’ harder since i plan to slow down my pace as i settle down n have my own family.

so yup, havent got much time to come online / check fb / blog etc..

but life’s been fulfilling!
we’ve started gg to e gym regularly n will be startin on our photography class nxt wed!

it also feels great catchin up wif some of my closer frens.
as we all bury ourselves in our heavy workloads, it’s really nice to noe tt some frens remain close n still make e effort to meet up no matter how busy they are.
 
e uber busy period will soon be over n hopefully i can get down to sortin out our summer travel pics!
