the stupid iphone launch!
having fallen in love wif e cool thing since it was launched in london, i wasted no time in registering for interest n subsequently reserved a white set to be collected at the launch.
so yup, at 11pm on thurs nite, we got dressed to go for e launch. stupid cancan even donned wat she was gonna wear on fri jus so she cld look nice in e endless pics she thot she was gonna take while buyin e iphone.

we arrived jus minutes before the launch at 12am
the queue was snaking.. it unbelievably stretched frm the main door of Comcenter till Killiney Rd, beyond LWS Sch of Music.. OMG. i was told by e staff that ppl had started queuing at 12PM that day.. which was 12hrs ago! OMG! wth were they thinkin man.

that was tuck tuck joinin e queue
the queue was not only long, it was chaotic! perhaps i’ve never been in any of such queues so i was taken aback. further down e queue ppl did not queue in defined rows, but jus squeezed among themselves to get in front.

lotsa waiting n queueing for e iphone fans..
i really did NOT expect any serious queue to be present, since almost all of us have alrdy reserved our iphone b4 gg down. Singtel shld alrdy hv an idea of e expected response n shld have taken measures to ensure that customers cld pick up their handset at e shortest possible time.
i was informed by a staff tt they had 80 counters set up jus to serve e iphone fanatics. i figured i’d be lucky if i can get to a counter in 5 hrs, cos there were abt 800 ppl in front of me, which means i hv to wait for 100 rounds b4 i cld get to a counter.
by then it was clear that Singtel’s intention was to create a queue as a publicity stunt. they wanna recreate e Hello Kitty craze tt happened 10 yrs ago but which still remains fresh in our minds. goddamit. i decided to leave after waitin for nearly an hr.
yes, i love e iphone n wld’ve gotten it in london if it wasnt locked to O2. but no, i wldn’t wanna be queueing for hrs jus to be the #801th person to get e phone. i shall jus wait till e hype dies down. bleah!!
