lil’ snow white

me n dt were at harrods few days ago to get a pouch for my radley organiser –> oh yeah crappy things i buy for e crappy things i’ve bought. bleah!

at e harrods store i saw e cute little bear keychain tt i wanted to get e other time! i din get it back then cos they were all somewat distorted n din look cute. buyin teddy bears also requires a hell lot of affinity u noe!

so this time round i happened to see a really really cute one and wanted to get it, but dt said “no”. dt has never said no to me.. i din understand why he said no to poor teddy? boohoo..

dt: where do u wanna hang it?
me: on my bag la.. maybe my chanel bag
dt: no no.. it’ll look funny.. no no this.. no no that.. (i can’t rem wat he said.. jus rem e no-nos)

anyway back to e topic, i really wasnt anyhow spendin money like wat dt thot, i really love the little teddy! n so i brooded over e loss of teddy for a few days n today we finally went back to get it. yippee! i also got a white colored version who is e elder twin of e brown one. e brown one is a miniature of tuck tuck bear!!

i tried sthg similar at a reception last term n decided to recreate e finger food. realised afterwards tt e base pastry of e one i tried aint e blinis i bought, n e cream was also not e same as e brie i’ve bought as well. crap.. only e smoked salmon is e same hahaha. but nevertheless it turned out quite ok, minus e fact tt gab said e fish quality was a lil’ lackin.

decided to use grapes as an alternative. at first bite, e grape canape din taste as good as e salmon one cos it was tasteless compared to smoked salmon. only e brie cld be tasted.. but after a few chews, e grape juice turned out refreshin n e aftertaste was light n nice too. haha!

i din leave any for dt as i thot he might not like e brie taste. decided to share the canapes wif my london pals instead! n so we organised a dinner party wif some of my classmates, e last one before i leave london.. n had some damn lazy tapas dinner at gab n amelia’s place. hah.. no pics here yet cos they’re still wif photographer gab. gab’s got a DSLR! i wan one too!

perhaps when i go all quiet, i’m actually most bothered by stuffs.

i din exactly do much shopping in Milan. usually i’d have shopped at H&M and e likes, but i had been doin tt wkly prior to e trip n i think there’s nothin else in e high street stores that i wan alrdy so this time i decided to give it a miss. actually there’s one exception - zara - n i’m savin it for spain haha!

as mentioned we went to The Mall to get a bag. i actually alrdy saw sthg i like last dec, so decided to try my luck this time round to see if they still have it.

i’ve always thot tt buyin bags has alot to depend on fate, n it’s like gettin a bf! they each represent a bf of mine! haha..

story goes: my previous burberry suede bag was a 2nd choice when i bought it last dec (xx used to say tt represents him - he’s like my 2nd best choice, which made me feel bad abt it. bleah..). i had wanted to get a red-orangey suede Gucci but somehow fate had it tt i ended up wif e burberry.

so this time i decided to go look for e Gucci bag again. after abt 50min of bumpy coach ride, we finally got to e place, saw a bag which is frm e same series, but of another shape. dammit. i din quite like it but there wasnt any other bag tt i fancied, so i decided to get it. i asked for a new piece, only to be told tt there isnt one. crapp.. n so cancan n tucktuck left e place without buyin a single thing. 真无聊… went all e way there in vain!

the followin day we were in Milan alrdy, n i decided to go Chanel to get my wallet. to my delight, i found myself greeted with the latest arrival in the boutique muahaha! it was exactly e same as e wallet i wanted, except tt e CC logo is in black patent. great now, cos i wont needa worry abt dirtyin e white logo.

i actually only wanted e wallet but dt asked e sales asst if they come wif matchin bags. he said “jus see wat they have” n i was like “ok.. cool” but wasnt expectin much. i almost cldn’t believe my eyes when e sales asst brought out e bag i’ve been dreaming of all e while! of course this time it came wif e better final touch - the black CC logo haha! gosh..

story: two yrs ago i wanted to get e one wif white CC logo but it was no longer in stores, so i went thru all means to try to find it online. realised tt chanel has no factory outlet so there’s no way to get it once it’s out of season. apparently they destroy their goods after each season.. SIAO! even when i was in london i was still searchin for it online, only to find tons of replicas each time. crap..

it was jus unbelievable lar. i think dt brought me e luck n fate. fate that there was no new piece for e Gucci bag at The Mall, even tho a sales asst did tell me tt there was earlier on tt day. n luck that we found ourselves in e boutique at e right time grabbin e last piece, cos only 5 pieces were shipped in n if we missed tt, we’d have to wait for e next shipment n by then we’d have left Milan alrdy. once again dt’s proven tt as long as we dun give up tryin, we’ll get wat we wan one day. –> lol u nv knew buyin a bag also got so much theory one rite.

like this bag, dt will always be my best ever. ok i definitely will buy more bags in future but tt’s when they’ll cease to represent my (future) bfs, cos dt’s gonna be where the search ends. weeet! sounds cool eh wahahaha! –> u never knew buying bags can represent so many things rite.. argh i’m so bo liao!

the food we had on our trip was quite mentionable, cos my dearest had taken e time n effort to do some research beforehand. love e sweetie! muacks!

let’s start wif e not-so-impressive meals first. breakfast in florence was ok-ok, but hey it’s been a long time since i saw scrambled eggs in e breakfast menu cos apparently continental breakfast = no scrambled eggs, american breakfast = scrambled eggs. crap..

we had lunch at The Mall. e concept of e food was good, but e final touches were mediocre. i had tender beef wif a burnt surface! n tuck tuck had smelly pork escalope wahaha. tsk tsk.. so, dun ever go The Mall for food; jus go there to buy out-of-season bags haha.

our daily breakfast in milan was enjoyable, tho it can get a little boring eatin similar stuffs everyday. tt’s european hotel breakfast for u btw.. anyway there was scrambled eggs at this hotel again! yay! i thot the breakfast was good, but dt who’s more used to international breakfast thot they were lousy. bleah lar..

we tried the pastries at the famous pasticceria Cova. the decor was elegant and spelt “high-class”, very similar to Demel in Vienna. i had this choc cake thingy wif pear inside - i’m sure it has a more appealing name but heck, i duno.. anw it was uber yummy! n super pricey! the service sucked big time tho. i obviously will not patronise it again, ever. i think. haha.

on one day we had lunch at e trendy rooftop restaurant on La Rinascente. the view of the Duomo was superb! we cld almost jumped onto e Duomo! haha nah i’m jus exaggerating.. but the cathedral was really jus metres away! the food here was really good. n obviously also pricey cos u gotta pay for e view n e ambience.

i had some yummy pasta+beef set, me n dt were supposed to share that but e servin was too little so i finished everythin myself. then i was still very hungry, so i ordered a squid ink ravioli. it looked a lil’ scary but i din taste anythin ink-like haha. e pasta was damn good too.. n i was still not 100% full after the two main courses, but e bill was mountin so we decided to have early dinner elsewhere. PIG..

early dinner was at Al Cantinone, a cosy restaurant we chanced upon ard e area. afterwards i found out that it’s one of e oldest restaurants in Milan! weeeet.. i had some yummy tagliolini wif shrimp n courgette, n dt tried their veal cutlet, a famous Milanese dish. we din like e veal cutlet at all. i hated e smelly taste tt e veal has (jus like e pork escalope earlier on). i always happened to order nice food while it’s almost always e opposite for dt HAHA.

the followin day, we had lunch at the happening Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II~! food were all priced wif a premium cos u gotta pay for bein spotted at the upmkt place in milan. even e cover charge was double the normal range. crap..

i had some nice nice pasta again n dt had some SMELLY veal ossobuco! we concluded that all meat have a weird taste in milan. no more meat in milan for us! hahaha. i also convinced dt to let me help pick his dishes in future hehehe.

we came to the rather romantic Naviglio Grande for dinner. i say rather romantic cos compared to the Charles Bridge in Prague, this is really jus so-so heh. we chanced upon this Top 20 restaurant n decided to have a nice meal by e canal. i din exactly love e food, but the ambience was 100% n havin wine n chit chattin wif my darling here under the stars made up for e chill after sunset.

on our last day in Milan before gg to Bellagio, dt brought us to Bar Magenta, an old famous bar/cafe with parisian art decor. i din like that place at all.. it gave me bad vibes n e food was bad. eeks.

and then in Bellagio, we had our best meal of the trip! a local recommended this relatively new restaurant called Far Out to us, which serves loads of seafood. since Bellagio is by the lake, it is also famous for its fresh seafood.

i had some seafood pasta shapes which was really good, n finally dt got sthg that was better than mine! he had this mini seafood platter of white fish, swordfish, calamari n king prawns. after e main we ordered fried calamari since we din have starters. it was sinfully salty but damn shiok la!

and the most most memorable meal we had on the trip: the breakfast at Grand Hotel Cadenabbia. the food was jus ok and as we were late for breakfast, they were alrdy half clearin e food. however, the view was simply amazing! we had breakfast jus beside the beautiful Lake Como!

i almost cldnt conceal my excitement lol.. it was jus sooo cool. i wished we had more time to enjoy our food n e view tho. anyways it was definitely one great experience n hopefully there’ll be more to come in future! shucks.. dt’s gonna say that he’s got expectations to meet now hehe. but no, anywhere is fine, as long as we have each other, rem? heehee!
