Day Trip to Bath!
it was a bright and sunny sunday and i was headin towards Kew Gardens which is near Heathrow airport, to meet Ray’s fren Meifen and her fren Ric! We’re gg to Bath today!
Look at the beautiful sky!

I hadda change tube at Monument.. It was a 1 hr ride + delays! zzz

Meifen is drivin us down to Bath! It’s a small town south of London!

It was an entertainin 2 hr ride haha. We joked n chatted and on the way we saw farms! Cows, sheeps etc.. when we were nearin Bath, we saw horses in a truck! haha

The streets of Bath.. it’s a nice place, laid back compared to London city. It’s also really small! jus like Sentosa hahaha.. You can get ard e whole town by foot!

that’s me and meifen. she’s really pretty!

that’s me tryin subway for e first time in uk! they have subway melt and that’s my fave. i decided that the bread’s gonna get too messy n opted for salad bowl..
then we went for an extremely enrichin tour in the Roman Baths Museum. We had a free audio guide and were introduced to the different bath areas and rooms in the Roman Baths, famous for its size and its place as a sacred, religious site.
We got to see many parts of the baths that still remain and also learnt the history behind the baths. The Romans and their way of life continue to fascinate me very much. The extensive piping system which they built 2000 yrs ago are still workin today and we got to see some part of it!
We all felt e tour was worth the money! Entrance was slightly cheaper for me cos i have a student pass heehee!

that’s me n meifen, amused by our audio guides! and that’s me in the Roman Baths and at the adjacent Bath Abbey. It was really nice.. i think we’ll see more in Italy yay yay!!

that’s us at the Great Bath, the biggest swimmin bath pool in the Roman Baths.
Then we proceeded to Sally Lunn’s, the oldest house in Bath. There’s a cafe on top and a kitchen museum in the basement. Sally Lunn’s buns are world famous and award winning and of course we bought one each to try!

that’s me with e huge buns(!), the house and the kitchen museum. Eh.. basically it’s a tourist trap lar!

that’s us with our world famous, award winning Sally Lunn buns! wahahaha.
On our way back we were caught in a jam.. we were lamentin n Ric said “how come i dun see a single car on the other direction!” and minutes later, we knew why. there was a car which overturned and the police cordoned off the entire highway! wat we saw after that was 14miles / 20km of cars all in a massive jam and ppl comin out of e cars n makin frens hahaha.

it was a real sight for ulu singaporeans like us hahaha.

at some point of the jam the cars were slowly asked to reverse n go in the other direction (ie. same direction as us). i was so glad it din happen on our way to Bath. phew..
