lil’ snow white

today i was out in Oxford st lookin for a cleanser. i settled for the Gel Clarte frm Lancome. it costs £17.50 at Boots and £13.99 at Superdrug. duh.. obviously i went to superdrug altho i have e boots loyalty card. i also got french manicure set cos i’m really bored w/o manicure here. but.. i really suck at doin french manicures. din manage to do any successful one..

anyway, i also had a 10% discount frm a previous receipt.. all i hadda do was to go online, fill out a survey n write e code given on e receipt. but somehow while payin, e lady told me tt e voucher has expired! but she said “no prob, we’ll take it”, n gave me a sexy wink haha! so she whipped out some crushed receipts which other customers had left, wrote my promo code on one of them n gave me e 10% discount! wahaha. YAY!

then i went to chinatown n bought more groceries! this time e interestin things included green bean (i love green bean soup!), huge pack of tau gay, japanese rice, e usual egg noodle, beehoon, choi sum, prawns n mussels etc. haha! jus this bit cost £13. zzz.. but i think some of e stuffs shld last quite a while. i think i really spend alot on grocery each wk haha..

so now my dry food cabinet is full again! haha. there’re 11 cans of baked beans in it LOL… that’s cos i love to stock up, esp when there’s sale. this one was a buy 4 get 4 free at only £1.86! there’re also 3 jars of peanut butter zzz. apparently i love peanut butter n this was some promotion again lar. hahaha!

few days back i asked xiao xing whether he’ll still love me n marry me if i dun wanna work in future.. he said yup, jus do wat i wan. he wans me to be happy n go back to him as soon as possible. hehe

in e past when we first got together (when we were still tryin to find out each other’s expectations in life), he said he will not marry me if i choose not to work, cos he wans him n his wife to have a better life wif dual income in future.

but now he wans me to be truly happy.. so today i said maybe next time i’ll jus go be an air stewardess, do some brainless job n fly ard.. or jus wateva job that doesnt require so much brains n wif lesser stress, n he said ok! haha! it must be cos my baby truly loves me now!

i’m sucha bimbo afterall. haha!

as i take a closer look at everyone ard me (ok not literally), i discover that there’re really many ppl who have been thru a broken family. my lil’ cousin’s dad is overseas wif a new wife n her mum will soon abandon her n move overseas as well, havin no intent of leavin any money for her. she assumes tt we as relatives will not leave her daughter to starve in the street. it’s really bizarre..

then i got to noe how some frens who grew up in unhappy homes never trust marriage again, or end up fallin in n out of love constantly, or simply jus erase that part of e memory, refusing to face it again cos e bad memories trigger tears. as if it can ever be erased. it really sounded like me, at least in e past..

one can never overestimate e effects of growin up in a broken family, esp so if it happens when e child is alrdy in his/her teens, since it’s e phase durin which extrinsic influences shape their character and values form. my parents’ divorce prolly din affect me that much till i was much older.. when i start to wonder how things will be like for me in future. 

i thank god for lettin sing eu into my life n makin such a big difference in it. it was never easy n we’ve gone thru so much to overcome e emotional obstacles. i’m truly grateful to have him in my life! *i love u very much, xiao xing*

but i feel very sad for my lil’ cousin, for havin such selfish parents. we’re most prolly gonna take her in, if she’s willin to come over. we may not have an extra room in e house, neither does my mum have as much cash to spare as e rest, but at least we’re e only ones who’re willin to try n make e effort. maybe e others are unable, n will never be able to feel e poor girl’s pain.

i ordered this pair of boots frm VS!

it took only 2 days to arrive in uk!! i mean after they shipped lar obviously..

and then i was told tt i have to pay import tax for this. wtf.. they charged me £5+ for the tax n i was sure i was charged more than required since VS is always dum with their goods’ value declaration. since i hate to be shortchanged, i started callin UPS to clarify n ended up wasting £3+ on phone bills IN VAIN! cos i was directed here, there, everywhere but no one cld answer my query. i decided to give up b4 i spend anymore ££ on the exorbitant phone bills. this place is a place for idiots!! argh..

anyway then.. after a few days of delay at e customs, i finally received my boots! but.. they’re not really as nice. the design is nice, but the fit is bad. so sad.. it’s my worst pair of boots.. i tried to order half a size bigger than my previous pair (which was half a size bigger than e previous one) cos i thot it’d be more comfy, but no.. it’s too big n wayyy too looose n it makes me look like i have carrot-calves. i think i will order another pair when it goes on sale at e end of e season. *hmph.. *

can i tell u a really stupid thing? i lost my ruler ytd!! i can’t believe it.. i’ve been usin my ruler for more than 10 yrs.. n it’s got so much sentimental value attached to it. i’m feelin really upset.

i still remember i got it at e old sanrio shop at takashimaya (when they were newly opened) n i paid $4.95 for it. back then japanese imports were still very expensive n it was really crazy to buy a ruler at $4.95, but well i used it for 10 yrs! so it’s 100% worth it..

i’m really upset. i’m not sure if they sell such good quality made-in-japan rulers these days anymore. there’re prolly only made-in-china ones ard these days. n i definitely can’t find such cute hello kitty ones in london.

classmate n i went to the school’s gym today! we had only 15 min after class before e aerobics class started so we took a cab to the gym! it was quite a short distance, abt 2 bus stops away so i decided to give it a try since i havent taken a cab in london before! the fare came up to £4.20, which was ok after we split it. but it’s definitely not for long distances! e meter jumps really fast, n increases by 20p each time!

e membership is at an affordable rate of £20 per mth.. i took it up so tt (hopefully) i can get more motivation to go to e gym more regularly hahaha.

anyway while in e aerobics class, i looked ard n i tell you.. i really looked like a stick among e other girls!! like really stick-thin!! it’s weird hahaha n my classmate doesnt understand why i have to go to gym. n i also looked very flat. the ang mohs have HUGE boobs, bleah.

i’m feelin so shag out after class.. there was a misprint in e class level, so it’s supposed to be advanced class but we went there thinkin it was beginners class. i’m so unfit these days boohoo..

right.. this is so great. my mthly transfer limit has been exceeded. im not sure how this can happen. im sure most ppl do not pay for their blogspot or wateva blog site, but i’m a (moronic) payin customer of blog.com, cos i use some idiotic premium plan which apparently sucks big time.. n my transfer limit can still be exceeded. how sucky..

it must have been e photos i’ve posted recently. each time e page is visited all e photos will be loaded n take up bandwidth. kns..

was out shoppin ytd! walked frm oxford street to regent street and then to chinatown. saw a really really nice smellin grape body lotion frm L’Occitane.. ahhh feel like buyin. apparently e uk prices r not cheaper than sg’s.. n i can’t claim VAT refund!!

London in the evening.. Quite a nice sight actually, but i think i’ll appreciate it more if my baby was beside me instead.

hah we can actually see nice bldgs like these in london. need not go all e way to bath lol. this is shaftesbury avenue..

then i went to shop for groceries at chinatown. bought this freakin pandan cake for £3.25! haha but oh well tasted quite nice after all, tho not at nice as those in singapore.

some of e more exotic stuffs i bought included prawns, mussels, choi sum, yellow (egg) noodles, bee hoon, mandarin pears, Lee Kum Kee oyster sauce! i cooked seafood noodle soup today for lunch n it tasted GREAT!! wahaha!

sigh.. i wanna get the grape body lotion frm L’occitane!!!

i wanted to wear open toe heels tmr, so i decided to do my own nail art pedicure in my room!

it turned out to be quite nicely done! the almost-full set of pedicure was done in barely an hr.. of course this is not exactly the most challengin nail art one can do, but i think it’s not bad for a first timer! it goes to show that when ppl are low on resources, they can work miracles! haha..

we made it to Merchant of Venice on thurs after class cos sat’s seats were sold out.. we had japanese food at a place called Wasabi (apparently my fave food here is jap food LOL).
