I may sound like a stupid kampong girl, but i jus got cable tv! wahaha!

i noe EVERYONE out there has cable tv but there wasnt really a need for my family to get one since i watch tv less than once a wk and mum always buys/rents/borrows hongkong drama serials so tt we can watch like 8 episodes in a day w/o slowly catchin it on tv. hehe but still i’ve always enjoyed watchin discovery channel n mtv channels at bf’s hse n it so happens tt last nite this young girl called me frm SCV regardin some promo.

and so i’ll pay a total of $18 + GST $0.90 per mth. sounds like a good deal! they’ll come over tmr to fix up e thingy since i’ll be on study leave. cool.. so happy!

was in taipei for 5 days durin e national day period wif erica n fren (yuting). it was a rather disappointin trip, not cos there weren’t anythin to buy, but cos we thot the whole hype abt taiwan is totally overrated.

the shoppin was quite good actually, but only at wu fen pu & e drugstores (haha). i bought some quite cheap n nice clothes, n i bought damn alot of hair n skin pdts, like face n hair mist, masks, mascaras etc etc. the drugstores carried brands frm japan tt cldn’t be found in s’pore. 

there’s really nothin much u can buy in e famous ximending cos everythin’s frm wu fen pu n e ximending stores simply put up a nicer decor n charge unrealistically high prices! e shoppin malls were also crap. u can buy a top frm this brand Barbie for S$300. hahaha well i only bought a pair of boxers for my baby tho. i thot hong kong is comparable, if not better, in terms of shoppin.

well everyone says food is fantastic in taiwan. i think it’s e effect of watchin too much tw variety show. we din find much nice food here tho. the best was e XXL chicken frm shihlin nite mkt, but it wasnt exactly sthg tt’ll make u go back tw for wahaha. in fact i think we have much better food n more choices in s’pore!

and then e hotsprings in beitou which my cousin said were damn good. i went there n it really wasn’t as expected. e bath itself was relaxin n shiok, but everythin else was definitely incomparable to e onsen resort i went to in japan. haha. it’s really jus a relaxin soak n nothin else.

so why do ppl say so many gd things abt taiwan?? i seriously dunno. i guess they’re prolly influenced by e popular variety shows n e seemingly happening lives of taiwanese celebs. oh well, i guess their entertainment scene is definitely betta than ours but haha doesn’t help. e streets of taipei were also quite dirty but i guess this is normal in many countries (except s’pore). 

we were jus so glad to be back in s’pore when we touched down haha. we exerienced this 15/20-min long turbulence on our flight back n cos e aircraft did not seem to be stable after such a long time, we really thot we were gonna die. all of us were so scared n erica stopped watchin her movie while yuting started prayin. n me? i started laughin cos i was so nervous! psycho! hahaha.

The sun was scorchin hot and the doggies were hiding under the benches. wahaha! that was our first outing wif baby’s doggy Dainty and his fren’s dogs. nevertheless it was a good outing becos dainty eventually warmed up and started playin wif other doggies. we really needa bring her out more often!
