Day 6:

We were supposed to go to Disneysea today but ah Hui woke up n said she’s really too tired to go. in e end she went back to bed n i started postin my diary entries. in e eafternoon we went to Kanda cos i wanted to buy snowboard wear. we walked till my toes were cramped n they jus have no Small size. crap. there was this super nice Roxy set!!! argh…

after kanda, we went to ikebukuro again cos we din finish explorin Sunshine city e last time. haha another umbrella bought here. the clothes n bags in japan r seriously overpriced, so i dun exactly buy wateva i wan. those plain lookin clothes alrdy cost $100, i might as well go back S’pore n buy MNG/Zara. those charles & keith pattern shoes also cost > $100, i might as well go back S’pore n buy Nine West. the normal lookin bags cost ard $100, i might as well dump the money into my Dior bag fund hahaha.

but then, i saw this really sweet black chiffon dress (which was frm Korea SHEESH..) and i thot it i was willin to spend e money. and damn! it was too big. apparently all e shops that we went to carry only 1 size for their clothes, n it’s M size so all dun fit me at all. then i saw another very chic heels n damn damn! no size again. crap lar. in e end, only 1 umbrella bought. hopefully shunjuku will be better.

we packed bento back to tomikawa-san’s hse!

Day 5:

I was so damn super tired, i went to bed last nite w/o showerin n removion my makeup. yuck. big pimples threatenin to erupt on my forehead! today we went shoppin at Ikebukuro & Shinjuku. ikebukuro was jus ok.. we went to Tokyu Hands at Sunshine City but din manage to finish combin e buildin. as usual we were in a rush, wif leng ard.

we had Lotaria for lunch today. it’s a famous fast-food chain in tokyo n we thot we cld give it a try since other restaurants ard e area seemed to be closed in e late afternoon. for dinner we had in at a CON-SHOP called suihoden. the salmon n tuna sashimi we ordered were totally not fresh, e squid was burnt, e egg tasted super weird n e yakitori were hard like rocks. yuck. so sucky, i hadda take a pic of e place wif my thumbs down to vent my anger!

at 7pm, we headed for Shinjuku. by then we only had an hr plus to shop. we went crazy over cosmetics again! after all e makeup i’ve bought, all i need will be good makeup removers! i found a gd Shiseido face makeup remover n a very gd eye makeup remover frm cle de peau. shiseido is sold everywhere in japan, in pharmacies n high end dept stores. they have so many different ranges of pdts & im overwhelmed wif e choices i have! it’s unlike e ranges we see in S’pore! haha another ¥10,000 blown on cosmetics today.

check out the nurse uniform i wanted to buy. it’s of very good quality haha. but damn. no size again. the sales girl said they only come in Medium size. crap or wat??

anyway on e way home we went to e wrong station n ended up walkin for an hr. my feet hurt frm all e walkin n was almost cramped. tonite i missed my Baby so much cos i was unhappy & i cldnt help but wept. so sad.. can’t wait to see my Baby. : (

Day 4:

Universal Studios bored e shit out of me today. The Terminator 2 ride is a 3D animation thingy that’s quite popular supposedly, but they jus din look real to me. it was jus like watchin a movie. Spiderman ride is e hottest attraction in e park, but again it was jus so-so to me. only at one part did spiderman look real to me when he sprung onto our car. sheesh.. i seem to be unable to see/feel like e others. (the japanese girls squeal at every single thing sheesh..) maybe i have astigmatism??

worse thing was, all e narrations b4/durin e rides were in Jap, so i din understand shit abt e story etc behind e rides. CRAP….. luckily we bought e Express tickets, so we din have to queue to take e rides, else it’ll be real borin man.

i din buy anythin except for a Hello Kitty clip for myself in e park. but then again u’d think that buyin a HK in Universal studios is damn weird. crap lar. they have snoopy too n i bought a dining set which costs $75 for Donald. so expensive. lunch was bleah-ish too. I had food court standard spaghetti & salad for $20. so expensive. everythin so expensive. im never gonna go back to USJ again.

Day 3:

Today we hopped onto e Limited Express train frm Irumashi station. it’s e fastest version n we hadda buy an extra ticket for it. Japan is a truly high-tech nation wif lotsa amazin gadgets. there’s a pedal beside each row of sears in e Ltd Exp train, so that when u step on it, u can rotate e seats n face ur frens on e adjacent row! At Ikebukuro, we changed to e Yamanote line to get to Tokyo station where we boarded e Shinkasen to Shin-Osaka. Ooh yeah… the Bullet train was indeed very fast. altho i had previously imagined it to be as fast as a plane, it wasnt that fast after all lar haha. it prolly travelled at 200-300km/h at it fastest. After 3hrs, we were at shin-osaka n hadda change to e JR line again to reach Universal Studios.

it was indeed very troublesome but waha! we were so happy to reach Universal City, where USJ & e official hotels are. we checked into Universal Port hotel & we ‘kapope’ ALL e cute toiletries AGAIN. wahahaha! then we went to Shinsaibashi, which apparently was a very popular shoppin street in Osaka. we went crazy in this big cosmetic store at Shinsaibashi. I bought like 4 mascaras cos i was so fascinated by e way e Jap girls do their doll-like eye makeup!

Girls in osaka r not as pretty/cute/hot as their tokyo counterparts. not that there aint any pretty girl, but jus tt e proportion is much lower here. Here in osaka, ppl r less frenly n more impolite. they push n rush into trains like singaporean aunties. some shop assts lose e smile on their faces once u appear to be a foreigner, & i dunno why!

The osaka street fashion is also ma-ma desu. but here i saw more tourists than in tokyo, prolly cos more ppl go ard tokyo wif tour groups & go to osaka on their own only when they extend their stay so it’s kinda hard to see them explorin tokyo as much as we do. yay! luckily we’re doin free & easy!

anyway i cannot stop bein fascinated by e toilet bowls i see in japan. in our hotel room e toilet bowl has sensors!!! it raises e cover when it sense someone approachin. oh my god!! i filmed e process down wahahaha! n then there’s a digital display where u can choose more nozzle positions, n e seat covers can also be closed by pressin a magic button. u can also choose to lift one or both covers with those buttons too! it’s so much more amazing than tomikawa-san’s. i’m gettin this for my hse!!!

whoa! i jus realised that e lights have sensors too. walk towards e toilet n e light in front of u will light up. there’s no need for nite lights anymore! cool… we’re gg to Universal studios tmr. damn late now.. sor tired frm all e travellin n shoppin these few days. :)

Day 2:

Today we woke up at 11.30am.. so late! tomikawa-san accompanied us to Shibuya cos he wanted to show us how to make our way to town. shibuya din seem like a nice place to shop at. i’m not exactly keen to check out the muji or uniqlo (japanese version of giordano) or Gap (heh ah hui loves these shops) cos the styles r so common. instead, i love weavin thru e small alleys & streets to check out tokyo’s street fashion.

only 1 shop caught my attn. it sells a variety of stuffs rangin frm nighties to very cute victorian umbrellas! oh did i say we’re into an umbrella-craze?? wahahaha. they’re all very nice n different frm those normal ones we see in S’pore! anyway there aint any mood to buy things so we ended up not buyin anythin. we also went to Shibuya 109. it’s like our bugis junction, with alot of small shops sellin Jap style clothes, which din really suit me n ah hui. They were blastin super loud Techno so me n ah Hui had no mood for anythin else except walkin thru e stores briskly.

Lunch was very good + super fun today though! we were at Okonomiyaki, a cook-ur-own-food style restaurant. the best thing.. it’s Teppanyaki style!! yippee!! never seen b4 in S’pore!! most of e real cookin was done by tomikawa-san; me n ah hui only did part of e tossin n scraping for fun + photo takin sake haha. one of e special thing we ordered was mochi wif fish roe, shrimps, cabbage etc. then u’ll use a mini scraper to scrape e Japanese muah chee n eat frm that. that was undoubtably new & fun to kampong me! wahahaha!

for dinner we had it at tengu () and hey, i thot szehan’s dad owns a tengu in S’pore that’s of e same concept?? it was another good Jap meal. well I guess Jap food will be good anywhere in Japan. oh n b4 dinner we bought some very nice strawberry & banana whipped cream crepe. this delicious crepe thing is now a big thing in Japan. we shld consider sellin this in S’pore.

my clothes now smell of e lunch we had today at okonomiyaki. yummy! we’re off to Osaka tmr mornin for Universal studios. Leng says it’ll be 9-17deg there. shucks man, i gotta put on my long johns since i left all my thick clothin all at home.

Day 1:

Our first day in Japan! We arrived 45min earlier than scheduled. Leng’s fren, tomikawa-san was there to pick us up. As the food on board JAL sucked, we hadda make a stop at a nearby parking place to get some food. Stops along the highway with toilets and food stalls are wat they call “Parking places”. We saw MOS Burger there and i decided to try out this EBI-cutlet burger since we dun have that in S’pore. oh, they dun have milk tea in MOS Burger Japan haha.

I must say that tokyo is really much more advanced than us. At every parking place there’s a big screen with a big map showin ur location, e traffic conditions n e time required to reach ur destination. tomikawa-san’s car has a GPS! both the screen at e parking place & e GPS indicated that we’ll reach tomikawa-san’s house in less than 2 hrs. however, when we reached Rainbow bridge, we got caught in the peak hr jam + the road to tomikawa-san’s house was closed! we hadda take a longer route n get in another jam and were delayed for quite a while.

Finally we reached Irumashi (入間市) n had dinner at a ramen store. the roadside stalls in japan r unlike those lok-lok ones u see in beijing. wahaha. they’re almost all air-conditioned and the waiters r all very polite. they’ll half-kneel by ur table to take ur orders. tomikawa-san thinks we’re very funny cos we don’t take chilli & we pick out all the spring onions frm the food. HAHA! After dinner we went market-ing at Jusco n bought a big bag of snacks + MINI cup noodles, those that ulu us have neva seen b4! we also bought 10 MINI can drinks (Qoo etc) cos they were jus so cute!! hahaha.

Then at ard 10pm, we arrived at tomikawa-san’s house. it’s rather small but cosy & clean. his toilet bowl fascinates me. it has a nozzle that shoots out water to clean ur buttock! there’re buttons to control e temp of e seat, e water pressure and e temp of the dryer (yeah it even has a dryer to dry ur backside). I’ve seen this e last time i was in tokyo, but have neva really got e chance to check out all e functions. So this time, every time i use e toilet, i’d spend some time checking out the e different nozzle positions etc wahahaha! oh and e tap automatically runs after u flush e toilet. high-tech or wat??? i’m gonna get one of these for my hse in future. & im gonna take a pic of e toilet bowl one of these days!
