Day 1:

Our first day in Japan! We arrived 45min earlier than scheduled. Leng’s fren, tomikawa-san was there to pick us up. As the food on board JAL sucked, we hadda make a stop at a nearby parking place to get some food. Stops along the highway with toilets and food stalls are wat they call “Parking places”. We saw MOS Burger there and i decided to try out this EBI-cutlet burger since we dun have that in S’pore. oh, they dun have milk tea in MOS Burger Japan haha.

I must say that tokyo is really much more advanced than us. At every parking place there’s a big screen with a big map showin ur location, e traffic conditions n e time required to reach ur destination. tomikawa-san’s car has a GPS! both the screen at e parking place & e GPS indicated that we’ll reach tomikawa-san’s house in less than 2 hrs. however, when we reached Rainbow bridge, we got caught in the peak hr jam + the road to tomikawa-san’s house was closed! we hadda take a longer route n get in another jam and were delayed for quite a while.

Finally we reached Irumashi (入間市) n had dinner at a ramen store. the roadside stalls in japan r unlike those lok-lok ones u see in beijing. wahaha. they’re almost all air-conditioned and the waiters r all very polite. they’ll half-kneel by ur table to take ur orders. tomikawa-san thinks we’re very funny cos we don’t take chilli & we pick out all the spring onions frm the food. HAHA! After dinner we went market-ing at Jusco n bought a big bag of snacks + MINI cup noodles, those that ulu us have neva seen b4! we also bought 10 MINI can drinks (Qoo etc) cos they were jus so cute!! hahaha.

Then at ard 10pm, we arrived at tomikawa-san’s house. it’s rather small but cosy & clean. his toilet bowl fascinates me. it has a nozzle that shoots out water to clean ur buttock! there’re buttons to control e temp of e seat, e water pressure and e temp of the dryer (yeah it even has a dryer to dry ur backside). I’ve seen this e last time i was in tokyo, but have neva really got e chance to check out all e functions. So this time, every time i use e toilet, i’d spend some time checking out the e different nozzle positions etc wahahaha! oh and e tap automatically runs after u flush e toilet. high-tech or wat??? i’m gonna get one of these for my hse in future. & im gonna take a pic of e toilet bowl one of these days!
