the carpenter or wateva u call him was at our hse yesterday takin measurements for my new bookshelf. we were in my rm when my mum asked me to print out the design for him.

so, i went to on my PC and printer and as usual, i did not on my monitor yet cos i knew my PC wld need some time to load. when the loadin was done, my printer suddenly spooled and wanted to print~! i didn’t even touch a single thing, and my monitor wasn’t even on!

so i fed the printer wif paper n guess wat? Yes, it printed the drawin for the bookshelf out ON ITS OWN. freakin hell..

he looked so happy in the picture with his gf, it made me smile too. i really wan him to be happy, to smile like how he used to. that was also the reason i left him, to let him find true happiness. and altho it hurts me still, it warms my heart to see him put on that boyish smile once again.

is this wat u call love? to want the best for him and ask for nothin in return? how can i ever love another person then in this case?

today i wore a nice green top to work n this colleague went “Hey u like kelly ah?”

me: huh?

she: oh cos kelly likes to wear green, din u realise?

me: oh! HAHAHA.

yes, my usual loud laughter. but to myself i thot, do i look so bimbotic and no class that i have to follow someone’s COLOUR? gross.

and last nite we were watchin Superstar and kelly was wearin this necklace which i have, coincidentally. my uncle jokingly said “oh muz be given by jiayu~! he gave both of u the same necklace!”

the story behind: kelly is wif jiayu, this guy who used to be the love of my life some yrs back. then, she was the ‘ultimate bitch’. not cos she took my bf frm me, but cos she treated him like shit, as in really SHIT.

they broke up 2 yrs ago n now that they’re back together, jiayu says she’s much more mature now. well, i hope for the best for them, and pray that she doesnt dump him after she gets famous et al. jiayu’s like a lil bro cos we’ve known each other for so long and he was part of my family so i really dun wan anythin bad to happen to him. =|

so the question, do i idolise kelly? well, i definitely acknowledge her talent (she’s so cool when she sang coco lee’s song last nite!) but no, i do not idolise her. why wld i have to? personally, i think i’m hotter than her. no?

life’s REALLY hectic these days. i work my ass off in the day to meet deadlines for our system integration, major project of the yr which will form 60% of our company’s appraisal and 50% of my individual appraisal this yr end.

u must be thinkin i’m someone frm IT dept, but no, i’m frm Actuarial Dept so i check the actuarial aspects of the integration and data conversion.

Actuarial? havent heard of it and dunno wat it means? haha.. i seriously have tried all kinds of answers when ppl ask wat we do at work. well, the most cool ans i can think of is that we design insurance pdts, takin into account probability of the policyholders dying or makin claims, come up wif the features of the pdts and a set of premium rates that will more or less guarantee the company a certain profit margin at the end of the day.

in other words, helpin the co to make money at ur expense! hahaha.

well other ppl like jeremy n junli do reporting, so they report to the regulators like MAS and LIA aka Life Insurance Association. i think reporting is SUPER boring, and pricing is cool. there’s some technical aspects + some mkting in it which i like! i requested to be in Pricing when i went for my interview, but i noe that there’ll come a day when i have to undergo job rotation and do reporting. oh well, that’s life isn’t it?

so other than work, there’re still exams to take. we’re studyin for a fellowship at the IOA aka Institute of Actuaries UK. the pressure to pass is definitely there, firstly becos everyone in the office has passed at least 8 out of 9 of the ‘100 series’ paper. each ‘100 series’ paper that we pass coincidentally gives us a 100 bucks increase in our salary! jeremy is alrdy taking a ‘300 series’ paper this sept! eeky..

and if i dun pass my paper this sept, not only am i not entitled to pay increment, i’m not reimbursed my $500 exam fee. and if the next time i wanna buy notes for the same paper that i’m re-taking, i’m not reimbursed that $450 either. argh.. this is a very expensive hobby!

to make things worse, the passing rate gets lower the higher the exam level. at last april’s sitting i think 10 ppl frm singapore sat for jeremy’s paper n NONE PASSED! omigod. i’m fainting.. but hey i’m not at ‘300 series’ level yet wahahaha!

gosh.. i’m stressed. every mornin i think of wat i muz complete at work, n every nite i think of the chapters i muz study. and every time i get all determined to study, sthg jus has to crop up. surprise visits frm aunty, uncle’s bdae dinner, family dinners et al.. everythin’s jus workin against me n my IOA. =(

i needa be more focused!!

i was at my manicurist’s and this lady customer sittin beside me stopped her manicurist and started filing her own nails! she claimed that the standard was too low n she cld do it better.

apparently the girl is new and seriously can’t do nails properly, so a more experienced girl came to paint her nails. when the base coat was painted, she insisted that the coat was too thick and requested ALL of them to be repainted. whoa. and i thot i was alrdy fussy enuff. hahaha.

she said “i’m sorry, i dun mean to be fussy but i dun wanna pay money to do sthg if i can do it better myself.” ok she’s a weirdo (like me?).

but then again i thot it’s really irritatin to have ugly manicures. i’m pretty picky myself wif mani and pedicures: nails muz be filed STRAIGHT and painting muz be near perfect. i’d request for repainting for some nails if the imperfections were too obvious and if every single nail is jus as bad, i’d remove the polish n boycott the shop.

everyone noes candy’s a fussy girl. fiona noes that there’re thousand and one things that i dun eat, n jeremy noes that there’re hundred and one variations i make when i order food so as to suit my tastes. and i eat super duper slowly. i cldnt finish the salmon in time on the flight to bangkok wahaha! now u noe how difficult it is to accommodate candy and her weird habits. bleah.

in any case, i’ve got nice chocolates on my fingers!! haha yeah they’re painted in a chocolately tone to match Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! i wanna watch it…

shoppin was almost fantastic in bkk, except that clothes were not as DIRT-cheap as i thot they were, n haha we din have enuff time to finish combin every single fun place. half a day more wld be best i think. hehe.

the nite after we touched down, the 4 kids namely candy, yimei, fiona n nicholas went to watch some old ugly fat ladies perform stunts wif their.. pussies. yeah, it’s the Thai Girl Show, not Tiger show ok. haha. the Thai Girl Show was so boring, i bet we were conned into some lousy one!

anyway for the days that followed, we went shoppin n shoppin n shoppin. u’re not gonna believe how much i spent in cheap BKK.

in any case, some fun things that me n mei did include goin for a SHIOK full body oil massage, another foot massage, eatin some SUPER YUMMY ice cream at baskin robbins (that’s my fav shop in MBK!!), playin MASAK MASAK at a steamboat restaurant! haha i really love these~!!

and my most satisfied buy? haha!! check out the very chic door blinds (or wateva u call these) + my nice furry-ball shawl~! *perfect*

alrite, it wasnt all heaven in bkk afterall. the hotel was.. hmm, pretty bad. when u check into a 3-star hotel, this is wat they provide:

- basins dirtier than e ones at home

- toilet light that flickers (durin the 7th mth!)

- ’sterilised’ glasses that have water stains

- no bedroom slippers!!

- soiled carpets & towels.

- laundry service that spoils ur favourite shawl

and when u pay S$40+ for a full set of mani & pedi + nail art in BKK, this is wat u get:

- S-shaped nails

- wounded + bleedin cuticles

- horrible painting

- distorted lil flowers that r painted usin poster colors (OMG!)

- and as a result some paint fell off in the shower

- thinner-smellin top coat

so once again the moral of the story is to stop trusting all those cheap deals. no more 3-star hotels for candy. and no more cheap mani-pedi for fussy candy.

anyway the most happening event occurred on our last day. because of the bloody ugly mani-pedi, me n yimei left MBK barely an hr b4 our flight time. we rushed back to the hotel by a tuktuk (apparently mei said it’s the fastest choice and it was true!) and checked out jus half an hr b4 our plane took off. wat the hell.

any sane person wld tell us that we wont be able to make it in time, and damn we were so gan cheong then in the cab.

wells, true enuff, we missed our flight! wahaha. i seriously din think that this wld happen to me. but in any case, we met some nice ppl at the airport who issued us tickets for a later flight at no charge. phew. can u imagine how relieved we were?

and when we reached home sweet home singapore, one funny air steward told me “do u noe that all the guys in the crew were talkin abt u?” wahahaha. so shy. he said i have a “dangerously hot bod”. ok that’s not true. i’m pregnant wif shit frm constipation in BKK! wahahaha.

so, next stop.. hongkong, anyone?

whoa. have been really busy at work lately BUT, in jus a few more hrs, i’ll be on a plane to bangkok! yippee! haha dun laugh at me, but this is my first time on a plane wif my frens! sheesh..

there’re loads of things that i wanna buy there, incl. the usual clothes, accessories, thongs, shoes + all vain stuffs. and no, no sexy lingerie for candy cos there’s no need for it at the moment wahaha! plus i wanna go visit the ‘renowned’ tailor Pinkie to make some thai silk office wear. cool.. i’m so damn excited, u’d think it’s my first time there!

heh i jus came back frm BKK in May actually. but i was so sick then, i puked n i almost fainted. it was so bad, i spent one entire day slpin in e hotel. wat a wasted trip. but no worries this time, i’m all prepared wif a nicely planned itinerary!

yep yep yep.. bye ppl, bye singapore! i’ll be back jus in time to celebrate ur bdae! haha.
